The Living Chapter Sample — Pre-Publication Facebook Contest
On November 12th, The Living hits bookstores.
This is very exciting to me. I’ve never spent so much time working on a novel, and I’m very proud of the way it turned out. The protagonist, Shy Espinoza, is my guy.

The Living is about a seventeen-year-old kid (the aforementioned Shy) who takes a summer job working on a cruise ship. While he’s out on only his second voyage, an earthquake pummels California creating a massive tsunami that destroys Shy’s cruise ship and catapults him into the dark, churning ocean. From this point on, The Living is a story of survival. With a little awkward romance mixed in. And a mystery that hovers over the entire story.
