National Book Festival, Texas Book Festival, Podcast with Sara Zarr, Cat Offer . . .
I’m super excited to be participating in my first-ever National Book Festival in Washington DC this weekend. I’ll be speaking on Saturday, September 21 from 1:20pm – 1:50pm, followed by a signing. Can’t wait to check out presentations by Paolo Bacigalupi, Matthew Quick, Margaret Atwood, Don DeLilo, Lisa McMann and Juan Felipe Herrera. More information here.
The author roster for this year’s Texas Book Festival was just announced, and I’m happy to say I’ll be speaking there, too, October 26, 27. It’s one of my favorite book festivals in the country. More information here.
Author Sara Zarr interviewed me on her podcast, This Creative Life, a couple days ago. We talked about work spaces and money and internet activity and VCFA, and at the end of our discussion I even offered up my cat to anyone who pre-orders The Living:
Come on, you know you want her. The book isn’t that expensive, and she has such wonderful manners!
You can check out my podcast with Sara here!
And last but not least, a new review of The Living just came in from School Library Journal which says: “. . . adventure survival enthusiasts will relish the vivid and raw descriptions of the sinking ship, blistering sun, and shark-infested waters. But most appealing is the empathetic teen, portrayed as a tough guy with a romantic side, who will appeal to both males and females.”
