Last Stop Comes Alive in Kansas City, Kansas

The Kansas City, Kansas Public Library made Last Stop come alive for some amazing kids last fall. It’s an experience I will never forget. And now there’s video! Check it out here.

By the way, I was playing hurt. Real sick that day. But we pushed through and made it happen and then I slept for two straight days in a Courtyard Marriott. A bit of a Willis Reed moment for sure.

Matt de la Peña is the New York Times bestselling, Newbery Medal winning author of seven young adult novels (including Mexican WhiteBoy, We Were Here and Superman: Dawnbreaker) and five picture books (including Last Stop on Market Street and Love). Matt received his MFA in creative writing from San Diego State University and his BA from the University of the Pacific, where he attended school on a full athletic scholarship for basketball.
